The Ciclofficine of the Teatro Povero – Itinerary

Let’s start from Bagno Vignoni a thermal place where hot water gushes out, mainly used for baths and muds. The thermal waters of Bagno Vignoni flow into the Orcia river which gives its name to the whole valley and creates suggestive landscape views and ancient bridges, which you can cross on your e-bike. To finish this “water” path, we suggest you to make a stop at the “skunk water” near Pienza, a small lake where the water boils continuously and gives off an unpleasant smell but with healthy properties.

After a brief refreshment stop in Monticchiello, an ancient village of Medieval origin, we recommend a visit to the Mill of Val D’Orcia, (Mulino Val d’Orcia) a strategic place along the Via Francigena, located right inside Spedaletto castle. At The mill you will enjoy the preparation and processing of bronze drawn pasta, buy it and taste it at the adjacent restaurant, listening to the stories of those who have lived in our land since ever.
