Walking along the Via Lauretana – Itinerary

The Via Lauretana is a route that can be addressed by any type of hiker, from the expert walker to the one who wants to make short daily stops.

The Via Lauretana can therefore be traveled from a minimum of 4 days with challenging stages, up to 7 or more days with short stages that allow you to make the most of the territory and its countless offers.

The first part of the trail to Rapolano is characterized by the fascinating landscape of the Crete Senesi, with rolling hills of clay that can be a snare after the rains.

After passing Serre di Rapolano and its quarries of Travertino up to Sinalunga the Way develops between oak woods and fields cultivated with vineyards and olive trees. Before arriving in Torrita and from there to Ossaia the landscape is typical of the plain of the Valdichiana that however offers valuable changes of view as the Way passes from banks, fields, riparian woods and beautiful villages.

The last part is a demanding climb where the effort will be rewarded by the arrival in the wonderful City of Cortona.
